Racine – Cultivons l’inclusion

What makes the RACINES project special is that apprentices living with an intellectual difference realize during their training that their efforts will help feed other users of Compagnons, a source of pride in itself.

A paradigm shift occurs when participants become aware that they are also involved in feeding families in the neighbourhood and are now taking on the role of contributors rather than receivers. This serves to improve their self-image as well as their confidence and self-esteem. These are important elements for individuals considering entering the job market. At the same time, society will also have to let go of old taboos and make way for the new reality that is taking shape. And that's just fabulous!
